Bikes: Hyosung GT650N

The Hyosung GT650N uses the same 650cc, V-Twin motor 

that does duty on the GT650R. This engine produces 72 bhp 

of power at 9000rpm and 6.1kgm of torque. This Hyosung 

can reach 100 kmph in around 5.5 seconds. Top speed is 

around 210 kmph and the GT650N will return 18-20 kmpl. 

The GT650N is available in three colors namely White, Red 

and Black. Garware Motors will be launching a 250 cc 

cruiser, sports and tourer in March, 2012. There are no plans 

to launch a 125 cc motorcycle in the near future. The 

company has started building a 25 acres of plant to 

manufacture Hyosung bikes in Wai, Maharashtra and 

engine assembly will be started soon. Till last month, 

Garware Motors sold 300 units of the GT650R and ST7 in 

India.

For the GT650N Hyosung have done away with the bulky 

looking fairing of the GT650R, and replaced it with a 

trapezoid-shaped headlamp unit, which looks inspired from 

the MV Agusta Brutale. The headlight itself looks nice, but 

the rounded shroud surrounding it tends to spoil its looks. 

Hyosung have also given the naked a taller, single-piece 

handlebar, which looks nice, and makes for a comfortable 

riding posture. That apart the rider’s footpegs have been 

moved slightly forward and the overall height of the 

motorcycle lowered by 35mm to make it more comfortable.

 Hyosung GT250R, a racy 250cc version of the bigger GT650R, with identical styling but a small capacity Vee-twin motor and lower spec components with a highly competitive pricing in order to fight in the growing 250cc segment in India. Expected to be launched sometime in mid-2012, the Hyosung GT250R will enter at a very crucial time with the new Pulsar and the KTM 200 already vying for attention in this segment. The Hyosung GT125R is definitely way above average for the budget 125cc class, as it shares the same substantial chassis as the 250. That makes it heavier than a 125 should be, but you get sporty USD forks and a gas charged monoshock ride.
