The Lamborghini Gallardo is an Italian high-performance exotic supercar. Joining the all-wheel drive LP560-4 coupe and Spyder (convertible) and LP570-4 Superleggara and the rear-wheel drive LP550-2 base coupe are the all-wheel drive LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale coupe, LP570-4 Blancpain coupe and Performante Spyder and the rear-wheel drive LP550-2 Bicolore.
The full-time all-wheel drive Gallardo LP560-4 is powered by a 552 horsepower direct-injected 5.2-liter V10 controlled by a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional sequential six-speed ‘E-gear’ transmission. The LP570-4 Superleggara, Super Trofeo Stradale, Performante and Blancpain use the same engine but horsepower is bumped up to 562, and the E-gear transmission is standard. The base LP550-2 and Bicolore have slightly less horsepower at 543, but the deletion of the all-wheel drive system saves almost 300 pounds, and the driveline and suspension are thoroughly tuned and revised for rear-wheel drive dynamics.
